How a Demolition Day Runs
- Step 1
Assessment and a real quote
We look at what is down, how it is attached, and how much square footage there is, because tile bonded to a slab and carpet over plywood are not the same job or the same price. Asbestos-era sheet vinyl in an older Littleton or Englewood home is flagged for proper testing rather than ground up, and we will tell you plainly if that is what you are looking at.
- Step 2
Containment and tear-out
Plastic goes up, vents get covered, and the demolition runs. Grinding is the noisiest stage and we will tell you in advance roughly when it happens so you can plan the day around it. Most single-level homes are torn out in a day; slab tile across a large footprint can take two.
- Step 3
Grind, clean and hand over
The deck is ground flat and clean, debris is loaded and hauled the same day, and the space is vacuumed. If we are installing the new floor, the prep crew picks up from there. If you are using someone else, you get photos and a note on any subfloor issues we uncovered.
